What is Invisalign and how does it work?
Invisalign is made up of a set of customized clear aligners that look similar to a mouth guard or whitening tray. Each aligner is uniquely crafted to shift teeth into the proper position over time. You will wear each aligner for 2 weeks, after which you will replace them with the next set in your treatment. Together these aligners are designed to make subtle shifts in your smile.
How do these aligners shift teeth?
By being able to manipulate both timing and force, Invisalign is able to move teeth into their desired location. Each movement is already determined ahead of time by our Waterloo, ON, family dentist before the aligners are even made.
How long will I have to wear Invisalign?
Everyone’s length of treatment is different. While most adults, on average, will have to wear Invisalign for about one year, the length of treatment for teens is comparable to regular braces (anywhere from 12-24 months).

Anyone who wants to fix gaps between teeth, crowding, underbites, overbites, crossbites and open bites could be an ideal candidate for Invisalign. While teens and adults can be great candidates for Invisalign, this system isn’t right for children whose teeth are still growing.
